The Winelands

Your trip is not complete before you have visited the winelands. Stellenbosch produces some fine wines, we know because we've tried them all. This year Stellenbosch celebrates it's 27th Anniversary of the founding of it's wine route, which is synonymous with high quality award winning wines. The wine route comprises 29 cellars which, between them, produce a large variety of red and white wines. The route offers you an ideal opportunity of sampling these wines whilst exploring this famous wine-producing region. Exploring the wine route is an adventure that will not easily be forgotten.

South Africa is a place of beauty, a magical paradise full of adventure and ever so exciting.

So, let the adventure begin!

All roads in SA lead to a warm and friendly place - Stellenbosch! A happy holiday starts right here. Also known as "Eikestad" - Town of Oaks, it is the centre of the wine producing area and a must to visit! A glass of wine will never taste the same to you again.

Did you know that Stellenbosch is the second oldest town in SA? Despite the proliferation of modern technologies, it has retained much of its original character and is a place to be thoroughly explored. Take a stroll along Dorp Street with the longest row of old buildings in SA. Many of the 18th century buildings in Stellenbosch, concentrated mainly on the Braak (village square) and Dorp Street, the early town's main thoroughfare, are national monuments, lending charming character and dignity to the first winelands settlement.

Beauty, culture, history, wine and wisdom rub shoulders in Stellenbosch, making a visit to the town a unique and wonderful experience. But, beware, she's addictive, like a glass of good wine. Once she's taken hold of you, she doesn't let go.

There is really so much to do. No matter how long you stay, you'll run out of days before you run out of things to do or places to visit. Here are a few options, but remember, there are plenty more:
